Business

• Orders continue to come in for Ruby on Mac, without much marketing. If this average stays consistent, I will meet my goal of $25K for this year. And that’s if I don’t work on anything else, and stop marketing Ruby on Mac. So, I’m hopeful that I can exceed my goal by looking for ways to increase traffic and spread the word.

• I looked at my Plausible analytics and noticed that I’ve been getting a lot of visitors from India, but not so many orders, so I added a discount code using ParityBar to make it more affordable. We’ll see if that results in more orders.

• Looks like the articles I wrote on Ruby on Mac have finally been indexed by Google. Let’s see how much traffic they bring in.

• Set up dataview plugin in Obsidian to organize pains and errors.

• Add more custom fields in ConvertKit, like purchase date and amount paid to make it easier to send updates only to those who need it, to figure out how much discount to give, and to calculate lifetime value. See Brennan Dunn’s tweet.

• Since this site is older and already has good search rankings, try writing the articles here instead of on Ruby on Mac to see if it brings in more traffic.

• Add utm_campaign when linking from here to Ruby on Mac to see which articles people are coming from

• See if my custom Paddle to ConvertKit webhook can be reproduced in Zapier, and how many tasks it uses up. That way I can show that my solution can save a lot of time and money.
