Business

• Got my first pre-sale for Ruby on Mac! A while back, they weren’t able to install Ruby on their M1 Pro Mac, and I offered them a Zoom session where we could test my premium script.

• Updated rom-prime script to get ready for session tomorrow.

• Looked through Marketing Examples for ideas for my Ruby on Mac sales page.

• Looked up differences between Slack and Discord in case I end up creating a private community. My initial thought was to have a space where people could get help from me and each other. Not just for the script, but for common issues people run into once they start working on Ruby projects. Maybe I can start with GitHub issues, and then see if people prefer Slack or Discord.

• I came across a comparison by Zapier: Slack vs. Discord: Which should you choose in 2021?. One thing I didn’t realize is that you can’t save posts on Discord. I use that feature heavily in Slack. On the other hand, Discord doesn’t limit how far back you can search, but Slack limits to 10,000 posts for the free version. Then again, I’m part of some free Slacks that seem to keep renewing their free trial.
